ZMM Troubleshooting
Common Problems Opening ZMM Files
WinZip Not Present
When trying to open your ZMM file, you get the error "Can't Open ZMM File Type". When this happens, it is commonly due to WinZip missing in %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the ZMM file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your ZMM, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Incorrect WinZip Version
In other instances, your ZoneAlarm Mailsafe Renamed Data file version may not be supported by your version of WinZip. If you've got the wrong version of WinZip installed, you'll need to install the correct version. Your ZoneAlarm Mailsafe Renamed Data file was probably created by a newer release of WinZip than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Investigate your ZMM file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening ZMM files are due to having the wrong version of WinZip installed.
