Common HPGL Opening Problems
Missing Canvas X
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open HPGL Files" when trying to open your HPGL. If so, it typically means that you don't have Canvas X installed for %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your HPGL because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens HPGL files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Incorrect Canvas X Version
It is possible that your version of Canvas X isn't able to open your HP Graphics Language Plotter File file due to incompatibility. This issue mainly occurs when your HP Graphics Language Plotter File file was created by a newer version of Canvas X than you have on your PC.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your HPGL file and clicking "Properties".
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening HPGL files are due to having the wrong version of Canvas X installed.
