Common Problems Opening XPW Files
Accessible FormNet Isn't There
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open XPW Files" when trying to open your XPW. Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Accessible FormNet isn't installed on your PC. Your operating system cannot associate your XPW with Accessible FormNet, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your XPW, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Accessible FormNet Requires Update
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Accessible FormNet Fillable Form File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version Accessible FormNet (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: If you right-click on your XPW file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Regardless, most of the XPW file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Accessible FormNet installed.

Assuming you have the right Accessible FormNet version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening XPW files. If you're still experiencing problems opening XPW files, there could be other computer problems. Other contributing causes:
- XPW file type Registry entries are wrong
- Accidental deletion of the description of the XPW file in the Windows registry
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the XPW format
- Something has caused file corruption of your XPW
- XPW file integrity has been compromised by malware
- XPW-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows cannot load your Accessible FormNet Fillable Form File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
