DC2 Troubleshooting
Frequent DC2 Opening Issues
Adobe Photoshop is Not Installed
Double-clicking your DC2 file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open DC2 File". If so, it typically means that you don't have Adobe Photoshop installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your DC2 with Adobe Photoshop, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your DC2, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Adobe Photoshop is Installed
It is possible that your version of Adobe Photoshop isn't able to open your Kodak Digital Camera RAW Image File file due to incompatibility. Visit the Adobe Systems Incorporated website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Adobe Photoshop. This issue mainly occurs when your Kodak Digital Camera RAW Image File file was created by a newer version of Adobe Photoshop than you have on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the DC2 file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening DC2 files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other DC2 File Opening Causes
Even with the correct version of Adobe Photoshop installed, you can still experience difficulties opening DC2s. If you're still experiencing problems opening DC2 files, there could be other computer problems. Other contributing causes:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for DC2
- Unintentional removal of the description of the DC2 file inside the Windows Registry
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the DC2 format
- Your DC2 file is corrupted (issues with your Kodak Digital Camera RAW Image File file itself)
- Past or present virus infection has affected your DC2
- Hardware related to DC2s has device driver corruption
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Kodak Digital Camera RAW Image File file
