Common VFO Opening Problems

Video Format Combiner Not Present

You attempt to load your VFO file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The VFO File Extension". If so, it typically means that you don't have Video Format Combiner installed for %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the VFO file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.


Tip: When another VFO application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.


Video Format Combiner Requires Update

In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Silicon Graphics Onyx2 Video Format Combiner File file that is unsupported by your installed application version.
