Troubleshoot LWR Files
Typical LWR Opening Challenges
RollerCoaster Tycoon Not Present
When you double-click your LWR file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that RollerCoaster Tycoon is not installed on %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: When another LWR application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Incorrect RollerCoaster Tycoon Version
It is possible that your version of RollerCoaster Tycoon isn't able to open your RollerCoaster Tycoon Laser Writing File file due to incompatibility. Installing the latest version of RollerCoaster Tycoon from Chris Sawyer is recommended. Most of the time your RollerCoaster Tycoon Laser Writing File file was created by a newer RollerCoaster Tycoon than what you have installed.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your LWR file and clicking "Properties".
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening LWR files are due to having the wrong version of RollerCoaster Tycoon installed.
