Troubleshoot SAP Files
Issues Opening SAP Files
Nullsoft Winamp Isn't There
You attempt to load your SAP file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The SAP File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Nullsoft Winamp for %%os%% installed. The OS won't know what to do with your SAP file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your SAP, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Nullsoft Winamp is Out-of-Date
It is possible that your version of Nullsoft Winamp isn't able to open your Atari SAP Music File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Nullsoft Winamp (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This issue mainly occurs when your Atari SAP Music File file was created by a newer version of Nullsoft Winamp than you have on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of SAP file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Regardless, most of the SAP file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Nullsoft Winamp installed.
Associated Difficulties Loading SAP Files
Although you might already have Nullsoft Winamp or another SAP-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Atari SAP Music File files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening SAP files. These issues include:
