Understanding TNY Issues
Troubles Opening TNY Files
Graphics Converter Pro Not Present
When trying to open your TNY file, you get the error "Can't Open TNY File Type". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Graphics Converter Pro isn't installed on your PC. The typical path of opening your TNY with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens TNY files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Wrong Version of Graphics Converter Pro is Installed
Sometimes your installed version of Graphics Converter Pro won't support your Atari Tiny Image file. Installing the latest version of Graphics Converter Pro from Newera Software Technology, Inc. is recommended. Your Atari Tiny Image file was probably created by a newer release of Graphics Converter Pro than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the TNY file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening TNY files are due to having the wrong version of Graphics Converter Pro installed.
Associated Difficulties Loading TNY Files
You can still experience errors opening TNY files even with the latest version of Graphics Converter Pro installed on your PC. If you are continuing to have errors with loading TNY files, other external issues might be to blame. Additional factors include:
- Windows Registry TNY file paths that are incorrect
- Unintentional removal of the description of the TNY file inside the Windows Registry
- Partial installation of Graphics Converter Pro that did not fully complete
- Something has caused file corruption of your TNY
- Past or present virus infection has affected your TNY
- TNY-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Atari Tiny Image file
