Issues Opening 58 Files
Pro/ENGINEER is Not Installed
You attempt to load your 58 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The 58 File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Pro/ENGINEER for %%os%% installed. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the 58 file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have Pro/ENGINEER installed, and you know of another program to open your 58 file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Pro/ENGINEER is Out-of-Date
It is possible that your version of Pro/ENGINEER isn't able to open your Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data file due to incompatibility. You will need to download a newer version of Pro/ENGINEER if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data file was created by a different (newer) version of Pro/ENGINEER than what's installed.
Tip: Investigate your 58 file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening 58 files are due to having the incorrect version of Pro/ENGINEER installed on your computer.
Associated Difficulties Loading 58 Files
Errors opening Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data files can still occur even with the latest Pro/ENGINEER software installed on your computer.
