Understanding 59 Issues
Common 59 Opening Problems
Pro/ENGINEER Disappeared
When trying to open your 59 file, you get the error "Can't Open 59 File Type". Usually, this is because you do not have Pro/ENGINEER for %%os%% installed. The OS won't know what to do with your 59 file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you don't have Pro/ENGINEER installed, and you know of another program to open your 59 file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Wrong Version of Pro/ENGINEER is Installed
It is possible that your version of Pro/ENGINEER isn't able to open your Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data file due to incompatibility. You will need to download a newer version of Pro/ENGINEER if you don't have the right version. Your Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data file was probably created by a newer release of Pro/ENGINEER than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: If you right-click on your 59 file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening 59 files are due to having the incorrect version of Pro/ENGINEER installed on your computer.
Other Causes of 59 File Opening Problems
Although you might already have Pro/ENGINEER or another 59-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data files.
