Typical 86 Opening Challenges

Pro/ENGINEER Isn't There

You attempt to load your 86 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The 86 File Extension". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Pro/ENGINEER isn't installed on your PC. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.

Tip: If you don't have Pro/ENGINEER installed, and you know of another program to open your 86 file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".

Wrong Version of Pro/ENGINEER is Installed

Sometimes your installed version of Pro/ENGINEER won't support your Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data file. If you do not have the proper version Pro/ENGINEER (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This issue mainly occurs when your Creo Elements/Pro Versioned Data file was created by a newer version of Pro/ENGINEER than you have on your PC.
