Troubleshoot BJG Files
Frequent BJG Opening Issues
Missing DESQview
If you attempt to load your BJG file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open BJG Files". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because DESQview isn't installed on your PC. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the BJG file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you don't have DESQview installed, and you know of another program to open your BJG file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Outdated DESQview
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of DESQview installed that's incompatible with your DESQview File type. Visit the Symantec Corporation website to download (or purchase) the latest version of DESQview. Most of the time your DESQview File file was created by a newer DESQview than what you have installed.
Tip: If you right-click on your BJG file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening BJG files are due to having the incorrect version of DESQview installed on your computer.
Other Causes of BJG File Opening Problems
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of DESQview will resolve your issue. Other BJG opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Other contributing causes:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for BJG
- Unintentional removal of the description of the BJG file inside the Windows Registry
- Corrupt install of DESQview or other BJG-related program
- Your BJG can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- The BJG is infected with a virus
- Drivers associated with BJG software need to be updated
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open DESQview File files
