Issues Opening EX Files
Symantec Ghost Solution Suite is Not Installed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open EX Files" when trying to open your EX. Customarily, this means that Symantec Ghost Solution Suite is not installed on %%os%%. The OS won't know what to do with your EX file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: If you don't have Symantec Ghost Solution Suite installed, and you know of another program to open your EX file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Outdated Symantec Ghost Solution Suite
It is possible that your version of Symantec Ghost Solution Suite isn't able to open your Norton Ghost Template Data file due to incompatibility. Installing the latest version of Symantec Ghost Solution Suite from Symantec Corporation is recommended. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Investigate your EX file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening EX files are due to having the incorrect version of Symantec Ghost Solution Suite installed on your computer.
