A3W File Complications
Common Problems Opening A3W Files
Missing Adobe Authorware
You attempt to load your A3W file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The A3W File Extension". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Adobe Authorware isn't installed on your PC. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens A3W files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Incorrect Adobe Authorware Version
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Authorware 3 Windows File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version Adobe Authorware (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This issue mainly occurs when your Authorware 3 Windows File file was created by a newer version of Adobe Authorware than you have on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the A3W file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: Not having the right Adobe Authorware version on your computer can cause problems opening A3W files.
