Troubles Opening A4P Files

Missing Avanquest A4Desk Pro

When you double-click your A4P file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Usually, this is because you do not have Avanquest A4Desk Pro for %%os%% installed. The OS won't know what to do with your A4P file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your A4P, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Wrong Version of Avanquest A4Desk Pro is Installed

In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a A4Desk Pro Project File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Visit the Avanquest Software website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Avanquest A4Desk Pro. The primary cause of this problem is that your A4Desk Pro Project File file was created by a different (newer) version of Avanquest A4Desk Pro than what's installed.

Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of A4P file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
