AAUI File Complications
Common Problems Opening AAUI Files
Adobe Acrobat DC Removed
You attempt to load your AAUI file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The AAUI File Extension". If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Adobe Acrobat DC for %%os%% installed on your computer. You won't be able to double-click to open your AAUI because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When another AAUI application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Wrong Version of Adobe Acrobat DC is Installed
It is possible that your version of Adobe Acrobat DC isn't able to open your Acrobat User Interface File file due to incompatibility. You will need to download a newer version of Adobe Acrobat DC if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Acrobat User Interface File file was created by a different (newer) version of Adobe Acrobat DC than what's installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the AAUI file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Conclusion: The majority of AAUI file opening issues are due to not having the correct Adobe Acrobat DC version installed.
Other Causes of AAUI File Opening Problems
Errors opening Acrobat User Interface File files can still occur even with the latest Adobe Acrobat DC software installed on your computer. Other AAUI opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Additional factors include:
- Windows Registry AAUI file paths that are incorrect
- Corruption of the AAUI file description inside the Registry
- Invalid installation of a AAUI-associated program (eg. Adobe Acrobat DC)
- Your AAUI can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- Malware-tainted AAUI file can't be opened
- Device drivers for AAUI-related hardware are out-of-date
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open Acrobat User Interface File files
