Understanding ACK Issues
Troubles Opening ACK Files
Missing Adobe Animate CC 2017
When you double-click your ACK file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". When this happens, it is commonly due to Adobe Animate CC 2017 missing in %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the ACK file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens ACK files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Obsolete Version of Adobe Animate CC 2017
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Swifty Data file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Download the latest Adobe Animate CC 2017 version from the Adobe Systems Incorporated website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Your Swifty Data file was probably created by a newer release of Adobe Animate CC 2017 than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the ACK file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening ACK files are due to having the incorrect version of Adobe Animate CC 2017 installed on your computer.
Associated Difficulties Loading ACK Files
Errors opening Swifty Data files can still occur even with the latest Adobe Animate CC 2017 software installed on your computer. If you are continuing to have errors with loading ACK files, other external issues might be to blame. These issues include:
- ACK file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Deletion of the ACK file description from the Registry by mistake
- Partial installation of Adobe Animate CC 2017 that did not fully complete
- The ACK itself is corrupted
- Malware-tainted ACK file can't be opened
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your ACK file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your Swifty Data file successfully
