Troubleshoot BPDX Files
Common BPDX Opening Problems
Adobe Acrobat DC Not Present
If you attempt to load your BPDX file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open BPDX Files". Customarily, this means that Adobe Acrobat DC is not installed on %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the BPDX file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your BPDX, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Obsolete Version of Adobe Acrobat DC
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Adobe Acrobat DC installed that's incompatible with your Acrobat Batch PDX File type. If you've got the wrong version of Adobe Acrobat DC installed, you'll need to install the correct version. Your Acrobat Batch PDX File file was probably created by a newer release of Adobe Acrobat DC than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your BPDX file and clicking "Properties".
Conclusion: The majority of BPDX file opening issues are due to not having the correct Adobe Acrobat DC version installed.
Other Causes of BPDX File Opening Problems
Errors opening Acrobat Batch PDX File files can still occur even with the latest Adobe Acrobat DC software installed on your computer. If you are still having problems opening BPDX files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Additional factors include:
- BPDX file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Accidental deletion of the description of the BPDX file in the Windows registry
- Corrupt install of Adobe Acrobat DC or other BPDX-related program
- The BPDX itself is corrupted
- BPDX file integrity has been compromised by malware
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your BPDX file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Windows cannot load your Acrobat Batch PDX File file due to insufficient resources (eg. RAM)
