Troubleshooting Problems Opening DATA Files

Common Problems Opening DATA Files

Microsoft Excel Disappeared

You attempt to load your DATA file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The DATA File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Microsoft Excel for %%os%% installed. Your operating system cannot associate your DATA with Microsoft Excel, so double-clicking the file won't work.

Tip: If you have another software that you know opens DATA files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.

Outdated Microsoft Excel

In other instances, your Analysis Studio Offline Data file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Excel. If you do not have the proper version Microsoft Excel (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Your Analysis Studio Offline Data file was probably created by a newer release of Microsoft Excel than what's currently installed your computer.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your DATA file and clicking "Properties".

Conclusion: The majority of DATA file opening issues are due to not having the correct Microsoft Excel version installed.
