DEU File Complications
Issues Opening DEU Files
Adobe Reader Disappeared
You attempt to load your DEU file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The DEU File Extension". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Adobe Reader isn't installed on your PC. You won't be able to double-click to open your DEU because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your DEU, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Wrong Version of Adobe Reader is Installed
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Adobe Reader installed that's incompatible with your Adobe Reader German Language File type. Download the latest Adobe Reader version from the Adobe Systems Incorporated website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Your Adobe Reader German Language File file was probably created by a newer release of Adobe Reader than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Right-clicking on your DEU, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening DEU files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
