FH6 File Complications
Troubles Opening FH6 Files
Adobe FreeHand is Not Installed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open FH6 Files" when trying to open your FH6. When this happens, it is commonly due to Adobe FreeHand missing in %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your FH6 because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When another FH6 application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Incorrect Adobe FreeHand Version
It is possible that your version of Adobe FreeHand isn't able to open your FreeHand 6 Drawing File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Adobe FreeHand (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Most of the time your FreeHand 6 Drawing File file was created by a newer Adobe FreeHand than what you have installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the FH6 file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: Not having the right Adobe FreeHand version on your computer can cause problems opening FH6 files.
Other Causes of FH6 File Opening Problems

- Corruption of the FH6 file description inside the Registry
- Adobe FreeHand or another FH6 application experienced a flawed installation
- Your FH6 can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- Past or present virus infection has affected your FH6
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your FH6 file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the FreeHand 6 Drawing File format
