Troubles Opening FXG Files

Adobe Illustrator CC is Not Installed

You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open FXG Files" when trying to open your FXG. Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Adobe Illustrator CC isn't installed on your PC. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the FXG file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.

Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your FXG, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").

Outdated Adobe Illustrator CC

Sometimes your installed version of Adobe Illustrator CC won't support your Flash XML Graphics File file. Visit the Adobe Systems Incorporated website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Adobe Illustrator CC. Most of the time your Flash XML Graphics File file was created by a newer Adobe Illustrator CC than what you have installed.

Tip: Right-clicking on your FXG, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
