Troubles Opening IGN Files
Missing Adobe RoboHelp
If you attempt to load your IGN file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open IGN Files". When this happens, it is commonly due to Adobe RoboHelp missing in %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your IGN with Adobe RoboHelp, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your IGN, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Adobe RoboHelp is Out-of-Date
It is possible that your version of Adobe RoboHelp isn't able to open your RoboHelp Ignore List File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Adobe RoboHelp (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is predominately due to having a RoboHelp Ignore List File file version that was created by a newer version of Adobe RoboHelp than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Investigate your IGN file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Regardless, most of the IGN file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Adobe RoboHelp installed.
Other IGN File Opening Causes
Errors opening RoboHelp Ignore List File files can still occur even with the latest Adobe RoboHelp software installed on your computer. If you are still having problems opening IGN files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Issues that aren't software-related:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for IGN
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry IGN description
- Adobe RoboHelp or another IGN application experienced a flawed installation
- The IGN itself is corrupted
- The IGN is infected with a virus
- Hardware related to IGNs has device driver corruption
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open RoboHelp Ignore List File files
