Troubleshoot MASK Files
Troubles Opening MASK Files
Missing Adobe SpeedGrade
If you attempt to load your MASK file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open MASK Files". If so, it typically means that you don't have Adobe SpeedGrade installed for %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your MASK file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Obsolete Version of Adobe SpeedGrade
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a SpeedGrade Color Mask File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. You will need to download a newer version of Adobe SpeedGrade if you don't have the right version. This issue mainly occurs when your SpeedGrade Color Mask File file was created by a newer version of Adobe SpeedGrade than you have on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the MASK file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening MASK files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other Causes of MASK File Opening Problems
