Understanding SEQU Issues
Common SEQU Opening Problems
Adobe Acrobat DC Disappeared
When you double-click your SEQU file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Adobe Acrobat DC isn't installed on your PC. The typical path of opening your SEQU with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens SEQU files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Incorrect Adobe Acrobat DC Version
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Adobe Acrobat DC installed that's incompatible with your Adobe Acrobat Sequence File type. If you've got the wrong version of Adobe Acrobat DC installed, you'll need to install the correct version. Most of the time your Adobe Acrobat Sequence File file was created by a newer Adobe Acrobat DC than what you have installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the SEQU file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: Not having the right Adobe Acrobat DC version on your computer can cause problems opening SEQU files.
Other SEQU File Opening Causes
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of Adobe Acrobat DC will resolve your issue. If you are continuing to have errors with loading SEQU files, other external issues might be to blame. Other contributing causes:
- File references in the Windows Registry for SEQU are wrong
- Accidental deletion of the description of the SEQU file in the Windows registry
- Invalid installation of a SEQU-associated program (eg. Adobe Acrobat DC)
- The SEQU itself is corrupted
- SEQU file integrity has been compromised by malware
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your SEQU file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Adobe Acrobat Sequence File format
