BSK File Complications
Typical BSK Opening Challenges
Nero Multimedia Suite Isn't There
Double-clicking your BSK file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open BSK File". When this happens, it is commonly due to Nero Multimedia Suite missing in %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your BSK because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your BSK, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Obsolete Version of Nero Multimedia Suite
It is possible that your version of Nero Multimedia Suite isn't able to open your Bryce Sky File file due to incompatibility. Installing the latest version of Nero Multimedia Suite from Nero AG is recommended. Most of the time your Bryce Sky File file was created by a newer Nero Multimedia Suite than what you have installed.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your BSK file and clicking "Properties".
Regardless, most of the BSK file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Nero Multimedia Suite installed.
Other BSK File Opening Causes
Assuming you have the right Nero Multimedia Suite version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening BSK files. If you are continuing to have errors with loading BSK files, other external issues might be to blame. Problems unrelated to software:
- BSK file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Deletion of the BSK file description from the Registry by mistake
- Invalid installation of a BSK-associated program (eg. Nero Multimedia Suite)
- File corruption affecting your BSK file
- Past or present virus infection has affected your BSK
- Device drivers for BSK-related hardware are out-of-date
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Bryce Sky File file
