Troubleshoot EC3 Files
Typical EC3 Opening Challenges
EPSON Print CD Not Present
Double-clicking your EC3 file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open EC3 File". Usually, this is because you do not have EPSON Print CD for %%os%% installed. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your EC3 file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Incorrect EPSON Print CD Version
In other instances, your EPSON Print CD File file version may not be supported by your version of EPSON Print CD. If you've got the wrong version of EPSON Print CD installed, you'll need to install the correct version. Your EPSON Print CD File file was probably created by a newer release of EPSON Print CD than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of EC3 file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening EC3 files are due to having the wrong version of EPSON Print CD installed.
