NDA Troubleshooting
Typical NDA Opening Challenges
Nero Backitup Removed
When trying to open your NDA file, you get the error "Can't Open NDA File Type". Customarily, this means that Nero Backitup is not installed on %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your NDA with Nero Backitup, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: When another NDA application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Outdated Nero Backitup
It is possible that your version of Nero Backitup isn't able to open your Nero Backup File file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Nero Backitup (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This issue mainly occurs when your Nero Backup File file was created by a newer version of Nero Backitup than you have on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of NDA file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening NDA files are due to having the wrong version of Nero Backitup installed.
Other NDA File Issues
Although you might already have Nero Backitup or another NDA-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Nero Backup File files. Other NDA opening errors can be created by other system problems inside of %%os%%. Problems unrelated to software:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for NDA
- Corruption of the NDA file description inside the Registry
- Incomplete or bad installation of a software application associated with the NDA format
- Your NDA can't be loaded properly (file corruption)
- Your NDA has adversely impacted by malware
- Device drivers of the hardware associated with your NDA file are corrupt or out-of-date
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open Nero Backup File files
