Common CIL Opening Problems

Microsoft Notepad Disappeared

When you double-click your CIL file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that Microsoft Notepad is not installed on %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.

Tip: If you know of another program that can open your CIL file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.

Wrong Version of Microsoft Notepad is Installed

In other instances, your Norton CleanSweep Installation Log File file version may not be supported by your version of Microsoft Notepad.
