Troubleshoot NRA Files
Issues Opening NRA Files
Nero 2017 Removed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open NRA Files" when trying to open your NRA. If this is the case, it's usually due to the fact that you do not have Nero 2017 for %%os%% installed on your computer. Your operating system cannot associate your NRA with Nero 2017, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your NRA file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Incorrect Nero 2017 Version
It is possible that your version of Nero 2017 isn't able to open your Nero Audio Compilation file due to incompatibility. If you do not have the proper version Nero 2017 (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: If you right-click on your NRA file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Regardless, most of the NRA file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Nero 2017 installed.
More Causes of Problems Opening NRAs
Even with the correct version of Nero 2017 installed, you can still experience difficulties opening NRAs. If you're still experiencing problems opening NRA files, there could be other computer problems. Additional factors include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for NRA
- The NRA file description within the Windows Registry was removed
- Corrupt install of Nero 2017 or other NRA-related program
- Your NRA file is corrupted (issues with your Nero Audio Compilation file itself)
- Your NRA is infected with malware
- Drivers associated with NRA software need to be updated
- Your PC doesn’t have enough available resources to open the Nero Audio Compilation file
