Troubleshoot NRD Files
Frequent NRD Opening Issues
Missing Nero 2017
If you attempt to load your NRD file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open NRD Files". When this happens, it is commonly due to Nero 2017 missing in %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your NRD with Nero 2017, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your NRD file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Outdated Nero 2017
Your Nero Burning ROM DVD-Video Compilation file is incompatible with Nero 2017 because you might have the wrong version installed. Visit the Nero AG website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Nero 2017. This issue mainly occurs when your Nero Burning ROM DVD-Video Compilation file was created by a newer version of Nero 2017 than you have on your PC.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the NRD file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening NRD files are due to having the wrong version of Nero 2017 installed.
Other NRD File Opening Causes
You can still experience errors opening NRD files even with the latest version of Nero 2017 installed on your PC. If you are still having problems opening NRD files, there may be other issues that are preventing you from opening these files. Additional factors include:
- Windows Registry NRD file paths that are incorrect
- Unintentional removal of the description of the NRD file inside the Windows Registry
- Corrupt install of Nero 2017 or other NRD-related program
- File corruption affecting your NRD file
- Malware-tainted NRD file can't be opened
- NRD-related hardware has device drivers that obsolete
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Nero Burning ROM DVD-Video Compilation file
