NRJ Troubleshooting
Issues Opening NRJ Files
Nero Multimedia Suite Isn't There
If you attempt to load your NRJ file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open NRJ Files". Usually, this is because you do not have Nero Multimedia Suite for %%os%% installed. You won't be able to double-click to open your NRJ because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: When another NRJ application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Nero Multimedia Suite is Out-of-Date
Sometimes your installed version of Nero Multimedia Suite won't support your Nero JukeBox Compilation File file. Download the latest Nero Multimedia Suite version from the Nero AG website to ensure you have the correct one installed. Your Nero JukeBox Compilation File file was probably created by a newer release of Nero Multimedia Suite than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your NRJ file and clicking "Properties".
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening NRJ files are due to having the wrong version of Nero Multimedia Suite installed.
Associated Difficulties Loading NRJ Files
Assuming you have the right Nero Multimedia Suite version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening NRJ files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening NRJ files. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
- NRJ file type Registry entries are wrong
- Mistaken removal of the Windows registry NRJ description
- Partial installation of Nero Multimedia Suite that did not fully complete
- The NRJ itself is corrupted
- The NRJ is infected with a virus
- Hardware related to NRJs has device driver corruption
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open Nero JukeBox Compilation File files
