Sources of NRV Problems
Common Problems Opening NRV Files
Nero 2017 is Not Installed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open NRV Files" when trying to open your NRV. Usually, this is because you do not have Nero 2017 for %%os%% installed. The typical path of opening your NRV with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens NRV files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Incorrect Nero 2017 Version
Sometimes your installed version of Nero 2017 won't support your Nero Video-CD Compilation File file. If you've got the wrong version of Nero 2017 installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is predominately due to having a Nero Video-CD Compilation File file version that was created by a newer version of Nero 2017 than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of NRV file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Summary: Not having the right Nero 2017 version on your computer can cause problems opening NRV files.
