Troubleshooting Problems Opening ODG Files

Common ODG Opening Problems

Apache OpenOffice Isn't There

You attempt to load your ODG file and get an error such as "- Can't Open The ODG File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have Apache OpenOffice for - installed. The OS won't know what to do with your ODG file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.

Tip: If you don't have Apache OpenOffice installed, and you know of another program to open your ODG file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".

Outdated Apache OpenOffice

Sometimes your installed version of Apache OpenOffice won't support your OpenDocument Graphic File file. Visit the Apache Software Foundation website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Apache OpenOffice. This problem is predominately due to having a OpenDocument Graphic File file version that was created by a newer version of Apache OpenOffice than what you have installed on your PC.
