WG File Complications
Troubles Opening WG Files
FIFA 2000 Not Present
You encounter an error message such as "- Can't Open WG Files" when trying to open your WG. Customarily, this means that FIFA 2000 is not installed on - . The OS won't know what to do with your WG file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: When another WG application is installed, you can choose to open it by selecting "Show Apps" and using that program.
Incorrect FIFA 2000 Version
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a FIFA 2000 Game Data file that is unsupported by your installed application version. If you do not have the proper version FIFA 2000 (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. The primary cause of this problem is that your FIFA 2000 Game Data file was created by a different (newer) version of FIFA 2000 than what's installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the WG file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Conclusion: The majority of WG file opening issues are due to not having the correct FIFA 2000 version installed.
Other WG File Opening Causes
Assuming you have the right FIFA 2000 version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening WG files. There can be external issues inside of - that are causing these errors when opening WGs. Problems unrelated to software:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for WG
- Deletion of the WG file description from the Registry by mistake
- Corrupt install of FIFA 2000 or other WG-related program
- Your WG file is corrupted (issues with your FIFA 2000 Game Data file itself)
- Past or present virus infection has affected your WG
- Device drivers for WG-related hardware are out-of-date
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open FIFA 2000 Game Data files
