Typical SVD Opening Challenges

Polytec PSV Software is Not Installed

Double-clicking your SVD file prompts the message "- Can't Open SVD File". Customarily, this means that Polytec PSV Software is not installed on - . This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the SVD file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.


Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your SVD, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").


Polytec PSV Software Requires Update

In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Scanning Vibrometer Data File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Installing the latest version of Polytec PSV Software from Polytec is recommended. Most of the time your Scanning Vibrometer Data File file was created by a newer Polytec PSV Software than what you have installed.
