PFB Troubleshooting
Common PFB Opening Problems
Autodesk AutoCAD Ecscad is Not Installed
Double-clicking your PFB file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open PFB File". When this happens, it is commonly due to Autodesk AutoCAD Ecscad missing in %%os%%. The typical path of opening your PFB with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: Another PFB-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Wrong Version of Autodesk AutoCAD Ecscad is Installed
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Printer Font Binary File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Visit the Autodesk, Inc. website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Autodesk AutoCAD Ecscad. The primary cause of this problem is that your Printer Font Binary File file was created by a different (newer) version of Autodesk AutoCAD Ecscad than what's installed.
Tip: Investigate your PFB file by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" to find clues on what version you need.
Summary: Not having the right Autodesk AutoCAD Ecscad version on your computer can cause problems opening PFB files.
