Sources of DTSHD Problems
Common DTSHD Opening Problems
Missing DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE
You attempt to load your DTSHD file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The DTSHD File Extension". If so, it typically means that you don't have DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE installed for %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the DTSHD file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your DTSHD file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Obsolete Version of DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE
Sometimes your installed version of DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE won't support your DTS-HD Master Audio File file. You will need to download a newer version of DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE if you don't have the right version. This problem is predominately due to having a DTS-HD Master Audio File file version that was created by a newer version of DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Right-clicking on your DTSHD, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening DTSHD files are due to having the wrong version of DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE installed.
Other DTSHD File Opening Causes
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of DTS-HD MASTER AUDIO SUITE will resolve your issue. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening DTSHD files. Problems unrelated to software:
