Frequent JPF Opening Issues

Adobe Illustrator CC Isn't There

You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open JPF Files" when trying to open your JPF. If so, it typically means that you don't have Adobe Illustrator CC installed for %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your JPF because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.

Tip: Another JPF-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.

Adobe Illustrator CC is Out-of-Date

Sometimes your installed version of Adobe Illustrator CC won't support your JPEG 2000 Image file. Visit the Adobe Systems Incorporated website to download (or purchase) the latest version of Adobe Illustrator CC. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.

Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your JPF file and clicking "Properties".

Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening JPF files are due to having the wrong version of Adobe Illustrator CC installed.
