Troubleshooting Problems Opening ICS Files
Issues Opening ICS Files
IronCAD Disappeared
You attempt to load your ICS file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The ICS File Extension". Usually, this is because you do not have IronCAD for %%os%% installed. The OS won't know what to do with your ICS file, so double-clicking to load the file doesn't work.
Tip: Another ICS-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Outdated IronCAD
Sometimes your installed version of IronCAD won't support your IronCAD 3D CAD Drawing File file. If you've got the wrong version of IronCAD installed, you'll need to install the correct version. The primary cause of this problem is that your IronCAD 3D CAD Drawing File file was created by a different (newer) version of IronCAD than what's installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the ICS file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Primarily, problems experienced when opening ICS files are due to having the incorrect version of IronCAD installed on your computer.
