Troubles Opening IFB Files
Siebel eBusiness is Not Installed
If you attempt to load your IFB file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open IFB Files". When this happens, it is commonly due to Siebel eBusiness missing in - . This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the IFB file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: When you have another program installed that you know will open your IFB, you can select it from the other programs listed (see "Show Apps").
Siebel eBusiness Requires Update
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Oracle Siebel Interface Configuration File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Installing the latest version of Siebel eBusiness from Oracle Corporation is recommended. Your Oracle Siebel Interface Configuration File file was probably created by a newer release of Siebel eBusiness than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: If you right-click on your IFB file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening IFB files are due to having the wrong version of Siebel eBusiness installed.
Other IFB File Opening Causes
You can still experience errors opening IFB files even with the latest version of Siebel eBusiness installed on your PC. If you're still experiencing problems opening IFB files, there could be other computer problems. Additional factors include:
- IFB file type Registry entries are wrong
- Deletion of the IFB file description from the Registry by mistake
- Partial installation of Siebel eBusiness that did not fully complete
- Something has caused file corruption of your IFB
- Past or present virus infection has affected your IFB
- Hardware related to IFBs has device driver corruption
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Oracle Siebel Interface Configuration File format
