Troubleshooting Problems Opening H Files
Troubles Opening H Files
MacroMates TextMate Removed
You encounter an error message such as "%%os%% Can't Open H Files" when trying to open your H. Customarily, this means that MacroMates TextMate is not installed on %%os%%. The typical path of opening your H with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you don't have MacroMates TextMate installed, and you know of another program to open your H file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Outdated MacroMates TextMate
In other instances, your C/C++/Objective-C Header File file version may not be supported by your version of MacroMates TextMate. Visit the MacroMates website to download (or purchase) the latest version of MacroMates TextMate. Your C/C++/Objective-C Header File file was probably created by a newer release of MacroMates TextMate than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your H file and clicking "Properties".
Summary: In either case, the majority of problems opening H files are related to not having the correct software application installed on your computer.
Other Causes of H File Opening Problems
Errors opening C/C++/Objective-C Header File files can still occur even with the latest MacroMates TextMate software installed on your computer. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening Hs. Additional factors include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for H
- Unintentional removal of the description of the H file inside the Windows Registry
- Corrupt install of MacroMates TextMate or other H-related program
- File corruption affecting your H file
- Malware-tainted H file can't be opened
- Drivers associated with H software need to be updated
- Too many applications are open on your PC to load your C/C++/Objective-C Header File file successfully
