Understanding P Issues
Frequent P Opening Issues
Python pickle is Not Installed
You attempt to load your P file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The P File Extension". If so, it typically means that you don't have Python pickle installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your P with Python pickle, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you don't have Python pickle installed, and you know of another program to open your P file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Python pickle Requires Update
In some cases, you might have a newer (or older) version of a Python Pickle File file that is unsupported by your installed application version. Installing the latest version of Python pickle from Python Software Foundation is recommended. The primary cause of this problem is that your Python Pickle File file was created by a different (newer) version of Python pickle than what's installed.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the P file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Summary: Not having the right Python pickle version on your computer can cause problems opening P files.
Other P File Issues
Assuming you have the right Python pickle version installed, other problems can prevent you from opening P files. There can be other issues - unrelated to software - preventing you from opening P files. Issues that aren't software-related:
- P file type Registry entries are wrong
- Corruption of the P file description inside the Registry
- Defective install of a P program, such as Python pickle
- File corruption affecting your P file
- Your P has adversely impacted by malware
- Device drivers for P-related hardware are out-of-date
- Your computer does not have the adequate system resources to open the Python Pickle File format
