Troubleshooting Problems Opening 3G2 Files
Typical 3G2 Opening Challenges
Apple QuickTime Player is Not Installed
You attempt to load your 3G2 file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The 3G2 File Extension". When this happens, it is commonly due to Apple QuickTime Player missing in %%os%%. This will prevent you from double-clicking to open the 3G2 file because the OS doesn’t know how to handle it.
Tip: If you know of another program that can open your 3G2 file, you can try opening it by selecting the application from the programs listed.
Wrong Version of Apple QuickTime Player is Installed
Sometimes your installed version of Apple QuickTime Player won't support your 3GPP2 Multimedia File file. If you do not have the proper version Apple QuickTime Player (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. This problem is most common when you have an older version of the software application, and your file was created by a newer version that it cannot recognize.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your 3G2 file and clicking "Properties".
Primarily, problems experienced when opening 3G2 files are due to having the incorrect version of Apple QuickTime Player installed on your computer.
