FLV Troubleshooting
Issues Opening FLV Files
Adobe Animate CC 2017 Removed
When you double-click your FLV file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". If so, it typically means that you don't have Adobe Animate CC 2017 installed for %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your FLV because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you don't have Adobe Animate CC 2017 installed, and you know of another program to open your FLV file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Incorrect Adobe Animate CC 2017 Version
Your Animate Video File file is incompatible with Adobe Animate CC 2017 because you might have the wrong version installed. Installing the latest version of Adobe Animate CC 2017 from Adobe Systems Incorporated is recommended. This problem is predominately due to having a Animate Video File file version that was created by a newer version of Adobe Animate CC 2017 than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Right-clicking on your FLV, then clicking "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), can provide clues about your file version.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening FLV files are due to having the wrong version of Adobe Animate CC 2017 installed.
Other FLV File Opening Causes
