Understanding PAG Issues
Common PAG Opening Problems
Microsoft Visual Basic Removed
Double-clicking your PAG file prompts the message "%%os%% Can't Open PAG File". If so, it typically means that you don't have Microsoft Visual Basic installed for %%os%%. Your operating system cannot associate your PAG with Microsoft Visual Basic, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens PAG files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Microsoft Visual Basic is Out-of-Date
Occasionally, you might have an outdated version of Microsoft Visual Basic installed that's incompatible with your Visual Basic Property PAGe File type. If you've got the wrong version of Microsoft Visual Basic installed, you'll need to install the correct version. This problem is predominately due to having a Visual Basic Property PAGe File file version that was created by a newer version of Microsoft Visual Basic than what you have installed on your PC.
Tip: Sometimes you can get a clue about the version of PAG file you have by right clicking on the file, then clicking on "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac OSX).
Regardless, most of the PAG file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Microsoft Visual Basic installed.
Other PAG File Opening Causes
Errors opening Visual Basic Property PAGe File files can still occur even with the latest Microsoft Visual Basic software installed on your computer. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening PAGs. These issues include:
- Corrupt Windows Registry file path references for PAG
- Accidental deletion of the description of the PAG file in the Windows registry
- Microsoft Visual Basic or another PAG application experienced a flawed installation
- Your PAG file is corrupted (issues with your Visual Basic Property PAGe File file itself)
- Malware-tainted PAG file can't be opened
- Hardware related to PAGs has device driver corruption
- Windows has inadequate resources to open your Visual Basic Property PAGe File file
