Understanding LBXWKS Issues
Issues Opening LBXWKS Files
Digital Library System Isn't There
If you attempt to load your LBXWKS file, you experience a message such as "Can't Open LBXWKS Files". Usually, this is because you do not have Digital Library System for %%os%% installed. The typical path of opening your LBXWKS with a double-click won't work because %%os%% cannot make the program connection.
Tip: If you don't have Digital Library System installed, and you know of another program to open your LBXWKS file, you can try opening it by selecting from the programs listed under "Show Apps".
Digital Library System is Out-of-Date
Your Libronix DLS Workspace file is incompatible with Digital Library System because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Digital Library System if you don't have the right version. The primary cause of this problem is that your Libronix DLS Workspace file was created by a different (newer) version of Digital Library System than what's installed.
Tip: Find clues on the correct software version by right-clicking your LBXWKS file and clicking "Properties".
Regardless, most of the LBXWKS file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Digital Library System installed.
Other LBXWKS File Opening Causes
Although you might already have Digital Library System or another LBXWKS-associated software installed on your computer, you can still encounter problems opening Libronix DLS Workspace files. If you are continuing to have errors with loading LBXWKS files, other external issues might be to blame. Problems unrelated to software:
- LBXWKS file references in the Windows Registry are broken
- Deletion of the LBXWKS file description from the Registry by mistake
- Invalid installation of a LBXWKS-associated program (eg. Digital Library System)
- LBXWKS file corruption
- Your LBXWKS is infected with malware
