Troubleshooting Problems Opening FDI Files
Issues Opening FDI Files
Amiga Forever Disappeared
When you double-click your FDI file, you may see a dialog box from your operating system stating that it "Cannot Open This File Type". Customarily, this means that Amiga Forever is not installed on %%os%%. Because your operating system doesn't know what to do with this file, you won't be able to open it by double-clicking.
Tip: Another FDI-related program can be selected to open the file by clicking "Show Apps" and finding the application.
Amiga Forever is Out-of-Date
Your Floppy Disk Image Files file is incompatible with Amiga Forever because you might have the wrong version installed. Installing the latest version of Amiga Forever from Cloanto Corporation is recommended. Your Floppy Disk Image Files file was probably created by a newer release of Amiga Forever than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: If you right-click on your FDI file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening FDI files are due to having the wrong version of Amiga Forever installed.
More Causes of Problems Opening FDIs
