Sources of SCT Problems
Troubles Opening SCT Files
Adobe Photoshop Disappeared
You attempt to load your SCT file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The SCT File Extension". Customarily, this means that Adobe Photoshop is not installed on %%os%%. You won't be able to double-click to open your SCT because your OS doesn't know what to do with it.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens SCT files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Adobe Photoshop Requires Update
In other instances, your Scitex Continuous Tone File file version may not be supported by your version of Adobe Photoshop. If you do not have the proper version Adobe Photoshop (or any of the other programs listed above), you may need to try downloading a different version of it, or one of the other software applications listed above. Your Scitex Continuous Tone File file was probably created by a newer release of Adobe Photoshop than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: You can sometimes get hints about the right program version by right-clicking on the SCT file, selecting "Properties", and looking at the version information.
Ultimately, most of the difficulties opening SCT files are due to having the wrong version of Adobe Photoshop installed.
Other SCT File Opening Causes
In the majority of cases, installing the right version of Adobe Photoshop will resolve your issue. If you're still experiencing problems opening SCT files, there could be other computer problems. These other problems include (listed in order from most to least common):
