RAQ Troubleshooting
Common Problems Opening RAQ Files
Cobalt Qube Isn't There
You attempt to load your RAQ file and get an error such as "%%os%% Can't Open The RAQ File Extension". Generally, this is experienced in %%os%% because Cobalt Qube isn't installed on your PC. Your operating system cannot associate your RAQ with Cobalt Qube, so double-clicking the file won't work.
Tip: If you have another software that you know opens RAQ files, you can select it by hitting the "Show Apps" button.
Cobalt Qube Requires Update
Your Cobalt Server Backup file is incompatible with Cobalt Qube because you might have the wrong version installed. You will need to download a newer version of Cobalt Qube if you don't have the right version. Your Cobalt Server Backup file was probably created by a newer release of Cobalt Qube than what's currently installed your computer.
Tip: If you right-click on your RAQ file, then select "Properties" (Windows) or "Get Info" (Mac), you can obtain hints about what version you need.
Regardless, most of the RAQ file opening problems relate to not having the right version of Cobalt Qube installed.
Other Causes of RAQ File Opening Problems
You can still experience errors opening RAQ files even with the latest version of Cobalt Qube installed on your PC. There can be external issues inside of %%os%% that are causing these errors when opening RAQs. Problems unrelated to software:
- Invalid RAQ file references in the Windows Registry (the "phonebook" of the Windows Operating System)
- Deletion of the RAQ file description from the Registry by mistake
- Cobalt Qube or another RAQ application experienced a flawed installation
- RAQ file corruption
- Malware-tainted RAQ file can't be opened
- Drivers associated with RAQ software need to be updated
- Insufficient system resources to successfully open Cobalt Server Backup files
